A
little while ago, I lost the .doc file that my novel in it, along with
all the formatting. I managed to get the pdf back from the printer,
but I had to completely reformat the entire thing. This is where I
notice a few typographical errors while I was putting the pages back
together. Apparently, well-meaning best friends don't always make the
best copyeditors. I had a character named Casey around the middle of
the book. Casey was original female. After some thought, I had
decided to make Casey a male because I thought the cast was getting a
little estrogen-heavy. However, after it was printed I noticed there
were seventeen references to Casey as 'her' or 'she.' So in light of
this, I'm selling all the copies of my book for $5 each so I can
reprint it and do it right. If you know me personally, I'll keep
copies of in my car. If not, or if you just don't want to have to find
me, you can order from my website, jasonluka.com, at the new price.

| Duane 'The Dog' Chapman goes into his extradition
hearing Wednesday at 8:30am Hawaii Time. I invite all of my Memphis
friends, everyone to say a prayer for Dog, Leland, and Tim Chapman at
exactly 12:30pm tomorrow.
In 2006, Chapman was arrested in Mexico for capturing Max Factor heir
Andrew Luster and bringing him back to the United States to serve the
124 year prison term handed down by the State of California for 86
counts of drugging, raping and videotaping young women.
'Dog' Chapman is a hero for what he has done for America, but has been
portrayed as a villain for what the Mexican authorities have accused
him of doing, by bringing serial rapist Luster back across the border.
The hearing on the resolution requesting the President of Mexico and
the Second District Court and the Second District Court of Guadalajara,
to drop extradition charges against TV Bounty Hunter Duane "Dog"
Chapman, is scheduled to be heard by the International Affairs
Committee, Wednesday, February 28, 2007 in Room 329, at 8:30 a.m.
Justice has been served in the capture of Andrew Luster by 'Dog'
Chapman. Chapman is a member of the Hawaii community and deserves our
support.
Please pass this message on.

| I realized I haven't posted to my blog in close to two months. Let's see. So I'm on my own now, living by myself, and renting my old house to my brother. There are a few things I've learned in the last two months.
1) If you give your tenants 30 days to change the utilities into their name, they WILL wait until an hour before closing on the 29th to do it and then ask for help when MLGW wants a deposit and back payments settled. 2) Duct tape makes great weatherstripping. (pictures coming soon) 3) Even in a Memphis winter, leave the furnace off when you're gone if you don't want to pay $200 on the utilities. The cat's comfort isn't worth it. 4) If you don't have money in the bank to pay your tithe, God probably won't make it miraculously appear before the check clears. He could, but he'd probably rather you learn not to be stupid with money first. 5) Nothing short of shaving the cat bald will ever stop him from shedding.

| After
nearly two months of dragging their feet, this afternoon I finally
bought the house I was looking at. So, expect soon to have a
Housewarming/Christmas/New Year's/Birthday party over there sometime
soon. | | |
| I did something I feel really stupid for today. Okay, after spending
my spare time of the last three days looking over Miranda's copy of my
novel and changing it to match what I have in my printed copies of the
book, a pain-staking process that put me almost to the end of chapter
one, something dawned on me.
"If I want the text on my computer to match the text in my book, ...why didn't I call the people who printed my book first?" | | |
